1) Required standards
Blackbox requires a POSIX-conforming environment in order to compile and run.
2) Operating systems
Currently, Blackbox is known to compile and run on the following operating systems:
- BSD (main development platform) (OpenBSD users read this)
- Linux
- IBM OS/2
- Windows (under Cygwin)
- Apple Mac OS X
- Sun Solaris
- SGI Irix
- HP HP/UX
3) Architectures
Theoretically, Blackbox will run on whatever architecture the above operating systems can run on.
4) Blackbox derivates
If using Blackbox itself is not convenient for you, for whatever reason, then consider perusing the list of RelatedProjects. It contains window managers and desktop environments that are closely related to Blackbox. Perhaps one of them will suit you better.
