1.1) On the Web
One way to reach the community is the BlackboxWiki (this very site). Since it's a wiki you can make a contribution right here and now. Find out how in the WikiHelp.
If you simply need access to bugs, features, support or patches see BlackboxDevelopment.
1.2) Via Email
If you want to participate to any other kind of discussion see MailingLists. That's where the main action takes place.
1.3) Via IRC
A bunch of us usually hang out on the #blackbox IRC channel on irc.freenode.net.
Note: most of the regulars are in Europe and connect from work. So your best chances of someone actually being there to help you are during weekdays, approximately 9:00 to 17:00 GMT.
You will need an IRC client. Once you've started it, issue the following commands to connect to the proper server, choose a nickname, and join the channel, respectively:
/server irc.freenode.org /nick your_nickname /join #blackbox
